GCU, November 2, 2019: Professor Liguang Wu,Director of International Office and Dean of International BusinessSchool of Guangzhou College of South China University of Technologywas invited to give a presentation on IACBE accreditation on the 54thChina Higher Education Expo on November 2 in Nanjing, China. Prof.Wu’s presentation, titled ”IACBE Accreditation and theEnhancement of Educational Internationalization” was one of thesessions in the forum – Reforms and Challenges in Business HigherEducational Internationalization.
Highereducational internationalization is an unstoppable trend under theera of economic globalization. The forum aims to provide a platformfor business education leaders and faculty in China’s highereducation institutions to discuss and share insights and goodpractices in terms of promoting exchanges and cooperation,discovering trends in student cultivation and enhancing the level ofeducational internationalization. Over 120 delegates from more than60 China’s higher education institutions have attended in theforum.
“Reformsand Challenges in Business Higher Educational Internationalization”ForumProfessor Wu’s presentation outlined how businessaccreditation benefits educational internationalization based on theIACBE accreditation experience of Guangzhou College of SCUT and theeducational concepts of International Business School. Analyzing thefocuses and principles of different accreditation organizations, hestated that application-oriented university shall determine thesuitable accreditation path in accordance with the mission, visionand characteristics of the university. Guangzhou College of SCUT hasachieved great outcomes in academic standards, quality enhancementand international cooperation in the process of IACBE accreditation.Professor Wu’s comment that business accreditation helps enhancethe level of business educational internationalization forapplication-oriented university has received positive feedbacks bythe forum attendees.
Attendingand giving presentations at the forum were the deans of businessschools of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, ChinaUniversity of Petroleum, Beijing Foreign Studies University,Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, as well as Dr. Brad AlanKleindl, Chair of Board of Commissioners of ACSBP. Guangzhou Collegeof SCUT was proud and honored to be the only private institution aswell as the only independent college invited for presentation oninternational business accreditation.

In an ever changing world with advanced technologies such asbig data and AI, facing the new generation with distinctcharacteristics, business schools shall innovate itself to cope withthe risks and challenges in business program development andeducational internationalization.
The54th China Higher Education Expo was hosted by hosted by ChinaAssociation of Higher Education and organized by Department ofEducation of Jiangsu Province and Jiangsu Association of HigherEducation. The theme of this year’s Expo is to showcase theeducational achievements of China during the last 70 years since thecountry’s founding and to promote educational modernization andinnovative development. There are not only forums and workshopsregarding all expects of higher education including regionaleducation reform, smart teaching, industry-university cooperation,the “New Engineering Discipline” and faculty development, butalso exhibitions on scientific research projects, labs, experimentalequipment, logistic and technical support tools.
